Early Bird: not

Ended up going to Early Bird Breakfast Club one night after work because the queue in iHop is exaggerated.  Ended up getting equal amount of time wasted.

I got really tired waiting for my order to be served.  I won't be swayed by getting a free pancake because my original order is delayed... My point is we waited, please advise exact time because the more you lie, the more you'll piss your customers.

I don't know if it's just me, but ifever there's another chance, I won't be ordering this again.  I guess I'll just get a normal dish that is also overpriced to meet expectations.

Good thing you have nice interior design to keep your customers entertained.

Sorry for the bad review but this is the point of making a review.  Thanks!
This happened some time in April 2013.  I do hope they have improved their service already :)

Lassi from New Bombay

It's actually my first time to eat at an authentic Indian restaurant, and or to eat an Indian food.  Me and my friends Kay and Tiff tried New Bombay for dinner for Friday night's supper.  Initially we planned to eat at the food trucks at the food bazaar called Cucina Andare but it's raining so we proceeded with plan b.  I was a bit hesitant at first but decided to give in.

I got myself something safe so I ordered Chicken curry, plain rice and a glass of plain lassy.  They had mutton, naan, chappati and another chicken dish which is a bit creamy.

Plain Lassi from New Bombay Authentic Indian Cuisine

I'm glad that the food weren't that spicy as I have expected, overall the food is really really really good :D  we were so full but still had space for cupcakes for the weekend's eve :)

Expectations vs Reality: McTasty!

Saw that there's this new offering from everybody's favorite, McDonald's las Thursday through Ashley G and Camille Co's instagram post.  So.. My teammate and I decided to give it a shot.

Left image is from the Internet, and the one on the right is my all new McTasty

And the judgement... Visually, it's not appealing but that's given.  Taste wise, I'm giving it 4 out of 5 stars.  The negative is because I can't really handle super spicy stuff.  I have a lot favorite foods that are spicy but I have to admit I lose my poise. Haha, not man enough.  So all in all McTasty is really good, not bad for your 115pesos.  I had a total of 3 cups of water,  it's that spicy but it's really great.  Go grab yours too and get that extremely hot burger from McDonald's :)

Ilocos Empanada

One of my favorite Filipino dishes is called empanada.  It's basically a thin pocket of flour/breading stuffed with almost anything, like spiced ground pork or ham and cheese.  Almost anything even jam will do.  But my favorite type is none other than the world famous Ilocos empanada.

So a dear friend brought us these very tempting Ilocos empanada yesterday for breakfast.  Insides are mixed monggo sprouts, shredded papaya, ilocos longganisa and a whole egg fried into perfection.  Some prefer eating this with vinegar but it's absolutely heaven with or without it.  You can spot a lot of Ilocos empanada in the metro, no need to travel all the way to Vigan.  There are stalls found on Sunday markets and even night food bazaars.  This one is particularly bought in Farinas empanada, located in West ave branch.  Can't wait for our next empanada treat :)

Chef's Assistant: Tuyo Pasta

Joined Chef Odski once again in the kitchen today.  This time, we're making a pasta dish that is less meaty since let's all admit, all the food at hand are either processed meat, or the junk fastfood type which makes us feel really bloated.  What we have today is a very good alternative for an ordinary pasta with meatballs.  We're using fish this time.  Just like the typical gourmet pasta we see from the restaurants, we're using "tuyo."  Tuyo is dried fish commonly served with fried egg and fried rice and vinegar in the Philippines for breakfast.  As an additional spin, we're serving tuyo in pasta for lunch.

Sautei the fish in a pan with oil, onions, green pepper and other spices... (I yet have to ask again from chef)

Add the noodles.  Make sure you toss it well for the flavor to coat the pasta.

Dig in! Best served with toasted bread.

Thank you very much chef sister for the very delectable lunch today.  Can't wait to try more of these special dishes.

Do you have your own innovative pasta recipe?  Share it and get a chance to be featured-by Pink Ninja :)
